Food: Hwa Ga Korean Restaurant @ Sunway Mentari

I'm always enthusiastic about trying out new Korean outlets in town. One that I have recently had the chance to enjoy and tantalize my taste buds was Hwa Ga Korean Restaurant @ Sunway Mentari. They actually have a few branches, the rest of it is in Ara Damansara, Solaris Mont Kiara, Sri Petaling and Damansara Perdana. So, if you're living close by to those areas, you can definitely pay this restaurant a visit.

Hwa Ga mainly serve the A-La Carte Buffet where you can sit down comfortably and order whatever you like from the a-la carte menu. There is a dining time of 2 hours in which you can enjoy your food without much rush or hassle.

One of the highlights and the latest addition to the menu is the Nurungji Tongdak which means grilled chicken and scorched rice!

The chicken being grilled in the oven! Fresh off the stove :)

Nurungji Cheese Buldak (Grilled Chicken and Scorched Rice with Cheese and Spicy sauce)

RM 65

For cheese lovers, you will absolutely love the overflowing cheese in this dish. The chicken is crispy on the outside and the rice is sticky on the inside. Both this texture coupled with the cheesy flavour is enough to keep you wanting more!

Nurungji Modeum (Assorted Grilled Chicken with Scorched Rice) - RM 75

For a chicken portion this size, you can easily share this with 3 of your friends if you are unable to finish it. It's basically a really large portion and is meant to be shared together.

Food: Milkcow All New Gold Leaf and Milky Cool Series

Ice cream has reached a new level of luxury. Milkcow recently introduced the all new Gold Leaf series, which is the current trend these days especially in Japan. At first, I was extremely skeptical at the thought of consuming gold but when I saw how it looked like, it was so pretty that I wondered if it was actually edible.

The paper is made out of real gold and actually, there isn't much funny metallic taste to it so don't worry! It's definitely picture worthy :)

And what's going to Milkcow without their famous soft serve ice cream and honey comb cubes!

MILKY COOL SERIES
Handcrafted Milk & Tea Drinks with Natural Puddings

Thai Green Tea & Mango Pudding (RM 7.90)

This one is perfect for anyone who is a green tea lover and I never knew the combination of green tea with mango would work magics on the taste buds like this one did. The texture and consistency of the drinks seems a little bit like the usual milk tea with grass jelly but this is a bit harder as there are soft pudding in it as well.

Thai Milk Tea & Green Tea Pudding (RM 7.90)

Strawberry Milk & Bubble Gum Pudding (RM 8.90)

This flavour is interesting and would be a kids' favourite.

Honey Milk & Yam Pudding (RM 8.90)

Chocolate Milk & Honey Milk Pudding (RM 8.90)

Daily: The Festival Gala Launch (Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2014)

MIGF (Malaysia International Gourmet Festival) is the ultimate gastronomic event of the year for foodies. I’ve heard about it previously and this year, I was invited to the most prestigious event for bloggers. The concept was Red Hot Chefs and the sole purpose of the event was for everyone to get the golden opportunity to taste fabulous cuisines from all over the world without even having to buy a plane ticket.

The Gala Launch held at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre started about 7 pm on the 26th September (Friday) and media plus VIPs were given the first hand to try out all the exclusive dishes whipped up by famous chefs from many restaurants all over Malaysia. It was a food extravaganza with a total of 28 stations and I couldn’t make up my mind on what to try first. Thankfully, I managed to try almost everything and I decided to compile some of the pictures.

I shall now introduce some of the dishes which were so good I literally flew to the moon and back, no kidding J Now, get ready with a handkerchief to wipe away those drools!

Selfie with the loved ones before the event :)

Smoked Duck Breast with Fricasee (Samplings on The Fourteenth Restaurant)

Signature Summer Salad (Signature by The Hill)

Salmon Sashimi (Minori)

Chinmi Maki (Minori)

Salsiccia Sausage (Marble 8)

Graze Classic Bouillabaisse Soup (Graze, Hilton KL)
I had five servings of this soup because it was the best I've ever tasted. There was a rich seafood taste with a tad bit of sourness which made it delicious and kept me wanting more!

Duck Frillette (Graze, Hilton KL)

Steamed Australian Short Ribs with Wincarnis Medicated Wine (Chynna, Hilton KL)

Steamed Omega Tiger Grouper with finely blended Carrot Sauce (Chynna, Hilton KL)

Robatayaki Grilled Baby Snapper Fillet, Wild Rice and Herbal Shimeji (Chambers Bar and Grill)

Chilled Mini Abalone (Dynasty, Renaissance KL)

Pan Seared Wagyu Sirloin (Sagano, Renaissance KL)

Japanese Five Element Beancurd (Ltitude Restaurant Bar and Lounge)

What's a night without an OOTD? :)

Once again, a big thanks to the organizer for inviting me for this priceless, one of its kind experience. I'll definitely be looking forward to next year's event :)
