Food: Caffeinated @ IOI Boulevard, Puchong

Attention to all coffee lovers out there! I have finally found the perfect place to satisfy all your daily caffeine fix and to basically chill with your friends on a lazy Sunday.

Caffeinated is the brainchild of Tarick Tan, a barista who is passionate in making that ideal cuppa' for you. Its located in a strategic place, the IOI Boulevard of Puchong where there are plenty of parking inside the building so don't worry about that.

I love the soft and subtle concept of the cafe, which gives that warm feeling to anyone who steps in.
There were a few families having their early dinner when we were there, so it is not only a cafe serving coffee but rather, a place for everyone!

The beautifully decorated order counter with flowers and ornamental items.

For those who prefer something else than coffee, they do have other choices like juices here :)

Affogato with Kapiti Ice Cream (RM 14.00)
Here, they boasts on using fine quality ice cream from New Zealand, known as Kapiti ice cream which is smooth and rich. The one we tried is the Pohutukawa Honey flavour which has just the right sweetness without overpowering the coffee when its mixed together.

Bailey's Tiramisu (RM 17.00)
Wow, this cup is filled with goodness from mascarpone cheese, farm fresh milk, Bailey's Irish Cream and espresso! It will blow your mind once you try it. This was the product of one of Tarick's creative experiment and this mixture is surprisingly good, even for a non-coffee fan like me because of its milkiness.

Dark Chocolate Float (RM 15.00)
This is the cutest drink ever, which is supposed to look like an Android design. There's Oreo's in this and I love this concoction.

Big Breakfast (RM 22.00)
A generous serving of scrambled eggs, muesli toast, sauteed' mushrooms, sausage and two slices of ham, this is the definition of eating like a King for breakfast. I love their muesli toast because its crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.

Mushroom Pizza (RM 20.00)
Thin crust pizza topped with generous amounts of white button mushrooms, shiitake, olives, capsicum and mozzarella cheese. This 10' sized pizza is good for sharing with your partner. The barbecue sauce at the bottom complimented the rest of the ingredients and truly enhanced the flavour.

German Sausage Baguette (RM 18.00)
This baguette meal is for those who prefer something out of the norm. We chose the German Sausage version but there are other types such as Lamb Leg, Turkey Ham or Smoked Chicken to choose from. This wholesome meal is packed with cheddar cheese, German Sausage, lettuce, tomatoes and some mayonnaise and wasabi dressing on top.

Carbonara Mushroom (RM 15.00)
Thick and milky carbonara sauce coating the pasta! This would be pretty heavy for most of you out there, but it wasn't for me and I needed to add some Parmesan cheese inside to savour this plate of pasta. There were various types of mushroom used in this and I would say the serving is quite huge as well.

Sharing Platter - Under The Sea (RM 80.00) - 2 -3 pax

This platter comes with a variety of seafood; dory fish, squid and prawns plus Foot-long, German sausage and Spicy French sausage. Some of the sides include Aglio Olio spaghetti, fries, sweet corn, tomato, sesame dressing salad and crispy nachos for kids to munch on while the parents indulge in the fresh seafood.

A picture before we end the night at this cozy new-found hangout place!

Food: Yoshinoya Hanamaru @ Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur

For those of you craving for Japanese food but constantly find yourself in a rush, you'd be happy to know that Yoshinoya Hanamaru is finally here in Malaysia. The names Yoshinoya and Hanamaru should be addressed differently as they each serve different items. I attended the pre-launch just a few days ago at their first outlet in Mid Valley and the food here is perfect for those who wants a place to fill their tummy at an affordable price.

Their concept is more focused on a fast food style, you even get your own trays to place your drinks, noodles and side dishes.

Hanamaru Udon is a popular fast food chain serving up steaming bowls of udon in Japan and they are now here in Malaysia as part of their global expansion plan.

On the other hand, Yoshinoya is another Japanese fast food chain, famous for 'gyudon' (beef bowls). Their promise to customers are 'tasty, low-priced and quick', ideal for shoppers who prefers a quick bite.

Azuki Cafe which serves coffea, tea, soda and smoothies!

Here are some of the side dishes which you can add to your main meal. The price are all written out; so you won't have any surprises at the end when you're paying for your meal.

Chicken Karaage
Tender, juicy, well marinated fried chicken pieces which was so flavorful in every bite. So fragrant but slightly oily for me.

Chawan Mushi (RM 4.00)
No complains for this as this is the basic appetizer in every Japanese cuisine. Smooth and silky egg that melts in your mouth!

Here's the start of the udon serving counter where you get to choose your noodles and watch as your meal is prepared right in front of you. Hanamaru boasts on their high quality udon which is made fresh daily using first grade flour. Their broth has a flavorful aroma from the imported dried kelp and sardines.

Salad Udon (RM 10-R, RM 13-L)
Generous serving of salads and sesame dressing infused udon. This will surely whet your appetite, especially for those who wants something different than the usual steaming hot bowl of udon.

Tori Dashi Udon (RM 10-R, RM 13-L)
This udon is served with chicken broth and the Mori-no-Tamago (Japanese eggs that can be eaten raw). I really loved their eggs as they are not hard boiled but soft and savoury  as you take a bite into it. It was similar to the comfort food consistency and egg lovers like me will absolutely fall in love with this.

Ontama Bukkake Udon (RM 8-R, RM 11-L)

Spicy Miso Udon (RM 12-R, RM 15-L)
For those who prefer a hint of spiciness and for a little 'kick' in their bowl of udon, try this! The spicy miso paste they added into the broth really adds flavour to the udon. A great combination!

Some of the selection of side dishes; fishcakes, kakiage and tempura for the big eaters or those who want something more than just a simple bowl of udon.

Yoshinoya's specialty, the beef bowl.

That's all, my stomach was already on the verge of bursting by the end of the night. Udon is pretty filling after all. I'd recommend you guys give it a try, because I know I'll definitely head back to this place for more goodies.

I was posing with my 'chawan mushi', pretty random I know, especially with my dad eating in the background.

Mum and I. What's a food review without a proper picture with the infamous Aunty Lilly? <3
