Beauty: Unleash the Milky Goodness with Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask

I have always been looking for a good exfoliating mask which is gentle and not too harsh on my skin. My skin is a tad bit sensitive, so I always need something really mild for it. However, up till now, I haven’t really found any products which works best for my skin. Recently, Althea launched the all new Milk Peel Cream Mask and it’s definitely something different than the previous masks I’ve tried. This mask gently exfoliates the skin, leaving it smooth and supple without any residue.

Ingredients

1. It contains AHA and BHA to help peel off dead skin cells for smoother, clearer skin
2. It has Casein protein from the milk which moisturises the skin deeply
3. This product has a soft clay texture that bubbles up after you massaged it to cleanse deep inside the pores
4. It is absolutely cruelty-free

How To Use

There are no complicated steps to using this product. Just pump some of the product and apply it on damp skin. Massage it gently in circular motions until it turns bubbly.

The bubbles may be quite ticklish on the skin, but remember not to wipe them away. Allow it to rest on your skin about 30 to 60 seconds and wash it off completely. Such easy, simple and straightforward steps to cleanse your skin!

Honestly, I really love this mask very much and I’ve been using it almost everyday. There is some small difference between this mask compared to previous peel masks I’ve used. Other exfoliating masks usually involves applying a layer on your skin and allowing it to dry for some time, continued by peeling it off and you will actually be able to see the dirt peeled off your skin.

For the Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask, the concept is slightly different. It is more like a wash-off mask and I really love the light scent of baby powder whenever I apply it on my face. It feels quite soft and easy to spread on the face, with a slight buttery texture.

After washing off, I find that my skin feels immediately smoother and the redness is reduced. Even my complexion seems a little brighter as well, after the first trial. My skin didn’t feel dry or tight at all, so I think it does keep my skin moisturised while cleansing the pores. I would suggest this product to those who have sensitive skin and is looking for a good exfoliating mask.

Mentholatum Tsum Tsum Face Wash 100g (RM 14.90)

There are two different variants for the face wash; Hydra & Whitening Face Wash and Pore Refining Face Wash.

I noticed that the Hydra & Whitening Face Wash brightens and evens out my skin tone after a few washes. I absolutely love the natural rose scent as this product contains Arbutin and Rose Extract.

The Pore Refining Face Wash minimizes pores and helps to balance the oil production on the face. With the hot & humid Malaysian weather, my face tends to get oily quickly and this face wash does help to cleanse my pores, as well as soothe my skin with its Aloe Vera Extract.

Mentholatum Tsum Tsum Face Mask Single Sheet (RM 7.90)

This product is available in four variants; Rose, Lavender, Honey and Tea Tree.

My favourite was the Lavender Mask which is suitable for sensitive and tired skin. These days, I find that my skin is quite dry. After using the mask, it really nourishes and replenishes my skin's moisture with its 4 types of Hyaluronic Acid. It calms my irritated skin and the redness over my T-zone was reduced after the mask.

Mentholatum Tsum Tsum Hand Cream 50g (RM 16.90)

The hand cream is available in three variants; Rose, Lavender & Jasmine. 

With the ultra-moisturising Almond Oil & Sunflower Seed Oil, this hand cream protects and nourishes your skin with every application. So soft and smooth after applying!

The texture of the hand cream is light and has a refreshing scent to it. This hand cream also helps to strengthen nails and prevent them from becoming brittle.

 

Mentholatum Tsum Tsum Fruity Lipbalm (RM 11.50)

Comes in fruity flavours such as Apple, Lime and Peach.

My favourite is definitely Apple flavour!

With Vitamin E, Argan Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil and other moisturising ingredients, this lipbalm smells good while deeply hydrating your lips. I like the smooth, lightweight texture and the best part, is that it is not sticky after application.

Daily: Hada Labo Beauty Event with Xiao Kai and Liu Yen

Personally, I swear by Hada Labo products and I love their skincare range. I'm currently using their full range from the toner, to the famous Hada Labo lotion to moisturise my skin daily, and even their sunblock. Oh, and not forgetting their water based make-up remover as well. 

As a Hada Labo user myself, I was very excited when they held a beauty event at 1 Utama last weekend with beauty gurus, Xiao Kai and Liu Yen. It was a thorough educational sessions for girls like me who have been using the products. Even for those who have not try out their amazing skincare range, it was an informative session for them as well.

During the session, I finally learnt the right technique to apply the Hada Labo lotion range. The right method is to pour a few drops of the lotion on to your palm, rub it with your fingers and then apply by massaging the lotion on your fingers from the chin area to the cheeks area. The idea is to massage the lotion into your skin using an upward pattern. This is to ensure all of the lotion is completely absorbed into your skin. 

One thing I've noticed previously, was that when I just dab the lotion on my face, it usually takes ages to dry and I needed to wait for a while before I apply my sunblock. Now, with the right method, the product absorbs quickly into my skin, so I can immediately apply my next step of skincare.

 

I'd highly recommend this Holy Grail of a moisturiser to girls out there who are looking for the suitable moisturiser. The product is good, even for those acne prone skins as it is water-based.

Beauty: Bulgarian Rosy Goodness with Daisy Sky Malaysia

I have always been fascinated and been wanting to try out some organic aromatherapy products. Recently, I came across a new brand, Daisy Sky Malaysia which is famous for utilising the Bulgarian Rose in their products. There are many health benefits from this natural source and they were the first to incorporate it into skincare products.

The range of hydrosols are made from 100% pure botanical extract and distilled with Bulgaria Spring Water at a 1:1 ratio. For those who have sensitive skin, fret not as Daisy Sky's products are all paraben-free without any harsh irritants and dyes.

 

Rose Alba Hydrosol 

This product is magical, it is extremely versatile and can be used as a mask, toner, facial and hair spray. It came in a spray bottle, so it is easy to use and I can just pop it in my bag when I'm out travelling. 

It is made out of pure white rose extract and it is ideal to whiten skin, reduce redness caused by stress and have a calming effect as well. It is suitable for ALL skin types, but it works best on tired and matured skin. The product will just absorb directly into your skin once you've sprayed it on. You don't even have to use any cotton pads anymore, so convenient!

 

Micro Bubble Shampoo

 The micro-bubbles produced by this shampoo is natural, soft and foamy which promotes growth of healthy hair and scalp. It is made from natural ingredients and is also paraben-free.

It reduces dandruff effectively and controls oil secretion, which is something I think is useful especially for girls with long hair. Washing our hair everyday dries it out, but with this shampoo, you can wash your hair after 2 days and it will still not appear oily.

It is also a very gentle product and is suitable for infants or pregnant women.

 

Aloe Vera Gel 

I've always been using natural aloe vera from the plant, but I find it a little tedious sometimes. Now, I found this aloe vera gel which comes in a convenient bottle.

This product contains 99.8 % of concentrated aloe vera and it really helps to rejuvenate your skin, besides minimizing the appearance of scars. I highly recommend this to those who are looking for something to even out your skin tone and revitalize your skin. It is colourless and odourless, plus I find that it leaves a cooling sensation on your skin after application and it isn't sticky at all.

Herb Rhythm Foaming Face Wash

The  texture of this face cleanser is bubbly and smooth on the skin. This is a luxurious facial cleanser which helps to remove dirt on your face with the essence of geranium and sweet orange.

It is ideal for makeup removal and unclogging pores without drying out the skin.

Bulgarian Real Rose Gel 

It is perfect for those with acne-prone skin as the rose gels help to regulate and balance the oil production. The rose gel is cooling and it moisturises my skin deeply. It has a silky, velvety texture to it which is easy to spread on my skin.

The lavender range helps to hydrate, repair and reduce imperfections as well as uneven skin tone.

Daily: Grand Opening of Claire Organics @ Da:Men, USJ

I've always wanted to tried out organic skincare products, and this wasn't the first time I've heard about how natural and beneficial these products are in comparison to the mainstream ones. 

Claire Organics is not a foreign name in the realm of organic products, which is why I knew I had to be there for their grand opening ceremony @ Da:Men, USJ. The mall was a perfect location with the location of the store being on the same floor with other popular beauty brands. 

Claire Organics was founded by Louise who had the inspiration to make bar soaps out of breast milk for her child. 

The name Claire was inspired by her daughter, ‘Norra Claire’ and it stands for ‘clear and pure’ in French. It is the perfect name for all the natural products available under the brand.

The wide range of products in store!

The Herbal Balm is a handy ointment convenient enough to bring around, especially during travelling. Being prone to insect bites, I often use this Healing Balm to soothe the itch and you can even use it for a variety of conditions such as eczema, rashes, acne as well as burns. 

The Lip Balm keeps my lips moisturised all day, in the hot and humid weather. I just need to apply one coat in the morning and there won't be cracked lips throughout the day. Plus, the calming, soothing scent of lavender makes it one of my favourite product at the moment.

The Rosehip Face/Body Oil is my personal favourite and one of the products from Claire which I have incorporated as part of my daily skincare regime. I have a few areas with uneven skin tone on my face which I sometimes use BB cream to cover. Ever since I've started using this Rosehip oil on my face, I've noticed a huge difference and my skin tone has become more radiant and even now.

The oil comes with anti-aging properties as it has tonnes of Vitamin A in it to reduce wrinkles or fine lines. It also helps in sun damaged treatment as well as scar treatment or any unsightly pigmentation marks. If you find that applying the oil all over your face a bit overwhelming, try applying it only on certain stubborn spots or area. That's what I did :)

Beauty: Your New Age Moisturiser, Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water

Moisturising is an important step in skincare, right after cleansing. Every time you cleanse your face, you strip off dirt along with your natural oil produced by your skin. Despite its importance, most people struggle to find a suitable moisturiser which fit their skin type. I used to be lazy and skipped this step frequently because it is time consuming. But now, I believe that you should never omit your moisturisers from your skincare regime, regardless. The new trend that I’ve seen around is the fancy moisturising sprays. In fact, a few of my friends have been asking me about my opinion on these products.

I have never been an ardent fan of moisturising sprays because I still prefer to use the typical moisturiser in which you have to pat it into your face. The Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water was the first product of such which I’ve tried. 

Surprisingly, I found that it is a rather convenient, easy to use spray especially when I’m in a rush in the morning. I tried it out and it seems to keep my skin moisturised throughout the day. It comes in the form of a spray and is extremely hygienic as you don’t even need to use your hands to spread the product. Plus, it doesn’t contain any fragrance and is hypoallergenic.

I’ve always had sensitive skin with some uneven skin tone here and there, so I will always have to choose my products wisely. It works well to even out and soothe some redness on my face too.  The spray is almost water-like consistency and it isn’t sticky at all. In fact, it absorbs into your skin within 20 seconds and you can apply any makeup or sun block over it immediately. The perfect sized bottle it comes in makes it easy to just pop into your bag whenever you’re on the go. I find that it is so convenient that you can just spray it anytime you want to keep your skin moisturised or whenever you feel that your skin is a little dry. It works wonders for those who are constantly staying indoors in an air conditioned environment or for those who are travelling during winter season.

Bioderma is a trustable brand and its dermatological water is soothing, cooling and comfortable. This product is made in France, by the way and contains some mineral salts and trace elements as well. For those who have always wanted to try out a different type of moisturiser, I would highly recommend this product as it saves your precious time and yet, still keeps your skin plump and moisturised daily.
