Food: McDonald’s Celebrates Malaysians’ Love for Ayam Goreng McD at its largest Facebook Live Unboxing Event in Malaysia

Fried chicken lovers rejoice! McDonald’s Malaysia has today paid tribute to Malaysians’ enduring love for its Ayam Goreng McD™- a classic customer favorite since 1987 - in the biggest Live Unboxing event on Facebook, in Malaysia. Over 2500 Share Boxes of Ayam Goreng McD™ was unboxed simultaneously across all of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.

 We were served some goodies from McCafe before the Unboxing event began!

Food: Pelicana Chicken Malaysia @ E-Curve, Mutiara Damansara

Fried chicken is considered a well accepted snack food in Korea and usually, the Koreans have them with beer. For K-drama fans, I'm sure you guys have watched 'My Love From The Star' starring Kim Soo Hyun which turned both the combination of fried chicken and beer into a new found frenzy.

Anyway, I was invited recently to a food review at Pelicana Korean Fried Chicken at E-Curve, Mutiara Damansara. And, well, I was definitely in for a chicky treat anytime, anyday. Pelicana is a fast food chain originated from Korea itself and no surprise that they were the chosen brand for the fried chicken seen in 'My Love From The Star'.

The store which has a natural, Korean cafe feel to it. 

So, before we get to the main dish, we were served some side dishes which is a common part of a Korean meal.

Rice with Black Sesame & Seaweed (RM 4.50)

Musaengchae - Seasoned radish (RM 4.50)

Miyeok Muchim - Seaweed salad (RM 4.50)

Special Pelicana Yellow Sauce (RM 1.00)

This sauce is a must try and it goes so well with the chicken served here. It had a little mustard and wasabi taste to it, and best part is, you could buy some sauce to bring home too.

Chicken Peli Crunchy Chicken 12pcs (RM 56.50)

Fried to perfection, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Just the perfect recipe for fried chicken and it's not salty or oily at all. Those weight watchers can have their dose of fried chicken at Pelicana without being overwhelmed with guilt.

Spring Onion Peli Yang Nyeon Chicken 14 pcs (RM 32.90)

This was the second choice for those who can't take spicy. The chicken is coated with sweet soy mustard sauce and sprinkled with some spring onions to enhance its flavour. I enjoyed this very much although I dislike sweet stuff.

Charcoal BBQ Peli Yang Nyeon Chicken 14 pcs (RM 32.90)

This was the second spiciest item off the menu. It wasn't that spicy on the first bite but as you go on, you will start feeling the effect. And, it was so pungent that the aftertaste hits you hard. For those who wish to challenge themselves, you can opt to try this but bear in mind, keep a glass of cold water by your side.

Burger Peli Jumbo Fillet Burger (RM 15.50)

Oh, look at the thick juicy chicken fillet in between two sesame seed buns and served with crinkled cut fries!

Peli Spicy D Fish Burger (RM 13.90)

I would definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for that perfect chicken experience. I'll be visiting again soon, because I'm in desperate need of my monthly dose of good fried chicken!
