Food: Fire Up Your Taste Buds with TR Fire Grill, Pavilion KL

TR Fire Grill is the new kid in town! It is themed in American bistro style and is sure to provide you with an unforgettable culinary experience. TR Fire Grill offers an interesting menu from brunch to dinner, and I will be highlighting a few today.

The TR Fire Grill is located in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur and the restaurant can fit about 180 guests at one time. It has a full bad for guests to enjoy special hand-crafted cocktails and various wine and beer offerings.

Cucumber Strawberry Freeze (RM 17)
This is absolutely refreshing on a hot day. Made out of blended fresh cucumber, fresh lemon and lime juice, topped with frozen strawberries, this is the ultimate mix between sour and sweet.

Oven Baked Pizza Dip (RM 25)
This is one of my personal favourite. With four different type of cheeses, Buffalo Mozzarella, Ricotta cheese, Shaved Parmesan and Shredded Parmesan, this is an extremely cheesy dish and great for sharing. Dip the garlic foccacia bread in the cheese for that delectable and unforgettable taste!

Smoked Meatballs (RM 28)
This gigantic meatballs are made out of beef short rib, brisket and chuck, all rolled up into a ball! Hickory Wood is used to smoke the meatballs to give it the significant smokey flavour. It is more to a sweet BBQ flavour, in my opinion.

Chicken & Waffles (RM 36)
Personally, i have never tried this combination before, but yes, I definitely have heard about it before. It is an American favourite and loaded with cheddar cheese & chicken bacon, along with agave syrup, this is a sinful addiction!

Agave syrup is a natural sweetener, thus even if you don't fancy sweet stuffs like myself, you will love this. I'd recommend that this is shared between 2 to 3 persons as it is absolutely a huge portion.

Salmon & Zoodles (RM 59)

Ribeye (RM 69)
Australian Grain fed beef grilled to perfection. You may request for the doneness of your steak and my personal preference is medium-well.

Served with roasted okra and mashed potatoes, this is my favourite as well.

Chocolate Mayhem (Small RM 26, Large RM 46)
This dessert consists of chocolate cake with coconut caramel sauce, chocolate mousse, Snickers bar, dark chocolate espresso beans, coffee and rich chocolate ice creams.

For the portion, you can easily share it with 7 to 8 pax.

So, if you have yet to plan on that special date you have or just a Christmas dinner, you can check out TR Fire Grill!

Food: Celebrating Christmas with Humble Offerings from The Forum KL Seasonal Christmas Menu

The Forum KL is a chic and modern day restaurant which pioneers in South East Asian cuisine. This restaurant is situated at Desa Sri Hartamas and they are introducing a lovely Seasonal Christmas Menu this festive season.

I particularly like the interior of this restaurant, perfect for dates or even family gatherings. It is brightly lit with an open concept, so you can take beautiful pictures here.

The Seasonal Christmas Menu comes in humble servings, instead of a buffet spread which is common during Christmas in most restaurants. I personally find that this is a better idea, as everyone will be seated during dinner, enjoying each other's company, rather than busying themselves with the buffet items. After all, Christmas is a time to celebrate with family and friends over food :)

The Forum KL’s Christmas Menu features a selection of appetizers, soups, mains and desserts.

APPETIZERS

Christmas Mini Quiche

Christmas Mini Quiche proves hearty and delicious featuring a light crusty shell and a warm filling of cheese, egg, cherry tomato, sliced capsicums and Napolitana sauce, these bite-sized delights are especially perfect for sharing with children.

Christmas Salad

I love this salad, very refreshing and filled with bits of orange, apple, pomegranate, radish, giving the salad a sweet twist. Interesting flavour and colour!

SOUPS

Beetroot Soup

Seafood Chowder

This creamy chowder filled with delectable bite-sized squid, scallops and prawns is my personal favourite. Portion wise, it was just nice and not too filling.

Well, this briny chowder deserves a thumbs up from me!

MAINS

Roasted Turkey

This Christmas favourite is presented beautifully and it looks almost too good to be eaten.

This elegantly portioned leg, lightly pink on the inside and a classic roasted brown on the outside. Paired with a quintessential cranberry honey glaze, broccoli purée and sautéed vegetables.

Grazed Rack of Lamb

A perfect balance between meat and fat, this finely sauteed cut of one day marinated lamb is flavorful and absolutely juicy.

The lamb is lightly seasoned, with a side of Bearnaise sauce, balsamic vinaigrette, white bean purée and sautéed vegetables.

DESSERTS

The dessert platter will feature a trio of delights – a classic Tiramisu that promises not to go wrong, an subtle Indian spin on a classic French favourite – a Masala Crème Brulee, and a selection of decadent Chocolate Truffles.

I enjoy the Tiramisu best, it didn't have an overwhelming coffee flavour. In fact, it was light and perfect as an ending to a good meal.

The Forum KL’s Christmas Menu is especially crafted for an option of a 3-course selection for RM60 per pax or 4-course selection for RM69 per pax. Dishes are not available for order singularly. The Christmas Menu is also only available via pre-order and advanced booking (minimum days: morning of the day of booked event date).

The restaurant is also running a social media contest whereby Instagrammers/ Facebook users have a chance of walking away with a RM100 dining voucher every week by simply regramming or reposting a picture from The Forum KL’s Instagram / Facebook page (see Instagram: @onlyattheforumkl; see Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/onlyattheforumkl/) and including the hashtag #TheForumKLXmas. The Forum KL is open 12pm-10pm on weekdays and 10am-10pm on weekends (closed on Tuesdays). The restaurant can cater to parties of 50-60 pax with ease, boasting a spacious glass-panel interior and seating. For dining or group reservations, contact the restaurant at 03-6419 0343. Beauty: A Concept Christmas Edition "Make Your Concept" Black Set

My favourite season of the year, Christmas is here again! What better way to celebrate it than to look amazing during this festive season with A Concept "Make Your Concept" Black Set!

I prefer to go for bright and cheery makeup during Christmas and this special Christmas set from A Concept features a couple of products, which is useful for me to create that light and youthful look. The Christmas Edition "Make Your Concept" Black Set comes with the All-In-One Brightening A:Cushion Compact, a lip and cheek stick and a lipstick plus a refill for the cushion too.

The All-In-One Brightening A:Cushion Compact looks great and the color #23 seems right for my skin tone.

It blends easily and has a very mild fragrance. It covers light imperfections and brightens up my skin immediately. If you are looking to get more coverage, you can tap the puff on the cushion a couple of times before applying.

One thing for sure, is that it doesn't give me the cakey foundation look after application. I'd recommend it because it comes with whitening, anti-wrinkle and UV protection features too.

Guess what? My favourite part of the cushion compact is that it has a unique feature, whereby you can keep the lipstick or lip and cheek stick that comes together in the compact. Pretty interesting and convenient, for girls on the go like myself.

With this, it's so simple, after using the lipstick, just twist it till you hear a 'click' and just insert it inside the respective compartment, as shown in the video.

A:Red Orange lipstick is a red lipstick but with a slight orange tint. I like the colour very much, because it's not too harsh when I apply it on my lips.

The application is pretty easy and smooth, because the lipstick is rounded at the top. The staying power of the lipstick lasts pretty long, I applied it and went to an event. After several hours, I checked my lips and it wasn't dry, it still looked great after a long time.

The Lip & Cheek in Coral has double usage, you may use it as a blusher or use it just like a normal lipstick. The Coral shade has an orange undertone too and is quite easy to blend on my cheeks. It gives off a subtle and dewy look after application. I like how natural it feels and looks, even in pictures.

Overall, I could get my makeup done with this set pretty quickly. With these three products, I can achieve a natural, simple girly look for dates and events this Christmas. I pop the cushion compact in my bag because its so convenient to do minor touch-ups during the day with it.

This A Concept Christmas Edition "Make Your Concept" Black Set is a perfect gift for your loved ones this festive season. Get it today at http://my.althea.kr/make-your-concept-black-set :)

Food: Favourite Korean Delights @ YG Republique, TREC KL

I am a huge fan of Korean cuisine and I crave for them at anytime of the day. I am always on the look out for good Korean food and recently, I came across one at TREC KL and it's called YG Republique. Korean fans would have heard of the name, at least once or twice because the restaurant is opened by the YG Entertainment company in Korea which houses some of the biggest K-pop idols, Big Bang and Black Pink.

Step into a different world and immerse yourself in K-pop at YG Republique!
You can find the autographs of your favourite artists and paintings of them too.

Absolutely enjoy the large variety of side dishes 'banchan' served here. They even have special salad which I've tried in Korea only at this restaurant.

Add the salad into your meat wrap to experience a different flavour!

Korean Pancake (Pajeon)

I really enjoyed the pancake here because its crispy on the outside and soft, chewy on the inside.

Personally, I usually skip the pancake at most Korean outlets because they've never made it right in my opinion. But, the one here is worth trying!

Butcher's Pork Fried Rice (1 person-RM 25, 2 persons-RM 50)

This fried rice is different than just your regular kimchi fried rice. They added some Chipotle sauce in this and aged kimchi for that sourish spicy flavour.

Samgeori Kimchi Stew (RM 30)

Using spicy anchovy stock, you cannot miss out on this yummy Kimchi stew during your meal. The kimchi they used to make this stew is the special Aged Kimchi which enhances the flavour of the stew immensely.

To accustom to the local flavours, they even added a few slices of bird's eye chillies to make it spicier.

The Spanish Black Iberico pork are preserved and aged appropriately for a smooth texture.

Iberico Belly and Iberico Neck (150g each) RM 55 per piece

The pork belly has a perfect ratio of fat and meat while the pork neck is thicker but is juicier.

Everyone might have their own preference, but personally, I still enjoy pork belly more than the pork neck. Perhaps I'm used to it, but the pork belly has a smoother texture and comes in a thinner cut.
