'MAKE VISION COUNT'
Leading vision care group, Focus Point has recently launched its World Sight Day 2017 'Make Vision Count' campaign on 12th October 2017. This community service campaign aimed to educate the public about the alarming rise in vision impairment and visual problems worldwide. It is important to recognise these conditions and problems from a young age, as our visual sense is vital and essential for daily function.
This global initiative works to raise awareness on preventable blindness. There is an estimate of about 285 million people living with poor vision and blindness. Just imagine how so many of these cases are actually preventable through proper eye care, eyeglasses and education. In fact, a shocking 80% of the world's blindness could be prevented!
According to President & CEO of Focus Point Holdings, Dato' Liaw Choon Liang, this event is meaningful as it synergizes with the company's core value and business model of enabling people to see better. This is the 6th year that Focus Point is organizing this event and they are excited to be part of raising global awareness on the importance of vision care and eye health.
'Make Vision Count' brings forth the message that preventable blindness is a problem that can be easily tackled by providing proper education and useful information to the general public. This campaign is presented with a fresh and colourful manner with many exciting games such as 'Snap A Vision' contest which aims to enable all to appreciate the gift of sight.
The Creatif Academy of Art & Design was invited to help bring the theme to life by creating a 3D eye sculpture to showcase the realities of eye care.
